To add a bit more to the recent post about the CI/CD pipeline breaking compatibility between builds, here's a bit more:

Turns out, building FrooxEngine on Windows will output a different build than on Linux.

I'm suspecting something around how locales are defined as, for instance, Resonite is usually built on a PC using the CZ Windows locale, while my own computer is fi_FI and the runners are usually running en_US.

Not even sure why the output is even different at this point, probably some lingering generator from a long time ago that was left behind.

In any case, this is getting looked at right now; it's just one of those odd issues you encounter.

Also, reminder that tomorrow, on April 21st at 18:00 UTC, I am holding my office hours at: s.j4.lc jaestare

You can also follow
@streams to get notifications when a new one begins. While I almost only use that platform for office hours, I occasionally stream development on it.

As a last note for tonight: you might have recently seen that my BlueSky account magically disappeared overnight, this is normal, I decided to completely disable it.

When BlueSky released, I made the mistake to think that the people that birthed Twitter would have learned from their mistakes. They did not. This time, not only you got the usual annoyances that you get on that sort of social platform, but also a completely abhorrent protocol that's only federated on paper (plus the weirdos defending BSKY for some reason).

What tipped the scale over was stupid: changing my e-mail address just didn't work, just threw an error.

At this point, I'm fairly convinced this is an Olympic level of incompetence (even more with the recent fiasco).

@woof for something that received 100M USD in VC funding, it's even more worrying.
